My wife left me over a year ago for a multi-millionaire and yet she is still insisting that she should have a large share of my meagre pension and possessions, even though I am retired and brought all the money to the relationship. I need a really determined lawyer to fight my corner and not give in with the excuse that the courts will always give women at least 50% of their husband's money.

Boodle Hatfield (used to have an Oxford office - not sure now) have a very fierce and expensive family law department who will no doubt get you the best deal possible.

Sorry not to have been able to answer earlier. Be careful about using a "really determined" lawyer. There are solicitors who will push a case far beyond what is reasonable, whether to make money or simply out of the urge to "win". But this is a very expensive and not very useful approach. What you need is a good solicitor who will not be browbeaten but will know the sensible limits of what can be done.
