Why does Eagle & Child always seem to run out fish & chips?

Our group has frequented Eagle and Child several times this past week in an effort to have fish and chips. Why are they always sold out?

I did manage to get fish and chips there not long ago. Not very good, and heavily salted chips. When the manager asked me if I'd enjoyed it I told him this. He said that the salting was company policy (presumably to make customers thirsty) and asked me if I was not content. When I said I wasn't, he gave a full refund, which was more than I expected.

I have no idea; I have eaten food there and thought it a bit poor... perhaps you should try the Kings Arms instead!
