Can anyone recommend a good optician where I can get the arm to my glasses repaired, or have the lenses removed and set in some new frames.

I've always found Boots Opticians (in the main Boots store on Cornmarket Street, 1st floor) very helpful. I got new glasses from them and am always going in to get them re-bent into shape and so on (I don't look after them very well...)
I expect they would help you too!
