Can anyone tell me which early morning trains are the best for getting a seat on (and which are the worst for getting a seat on)? I understand that you can't get a seat on the trains around 7.30 - is this correct?

Which part of London are you aiming for? This might be of no help to you, given the timings, but I get the the 8.21 every morning (destination: Ealing Broadway) and that always has seats (when i board it at Oxford). It has a tonne of stops though (I get off at Didcot myself).

And, if i'm early enough I get the 8.06 (Destination: Paddington, also stops at Didcot) and that also has seats free. Only 4 or 5 stops too, from memory. I reckon it must fill up at Reading tho, for sure.
