I'm looking for either a passport photo booth or for someone to take it for me e.g. in a chemist or something- does anyone know where I can get this done in town or in Jericho? Thanks in advance.

Had mine done at the Snappy Snaps on Cornmarket Street, they seem to know all the requirements, mine were for a very specific size (Canadian passport) and nothing was too much trouble. the lady took many photos, told me how to pose for them and they were ready very quickly and looked great! There was a queue of people waiting for passport photos, apparently they do a lot of them.

You can try in Boots on Cornmarket Street. I am sure I saw a photo machine-cubicle.

Whatever you do, DON'T go to Snappy Snaps on Cornmarket St (if it's still there). The passport photo that they took for me not only made me look lik a criminal, but was also rejected by the Post Office for various reasons (if it's for a passport they are really strict now and I would absolutely recommend the Check and Service at the P.O.). I went to a booth at Temple Cowley, so perhaps not what you're looking for, but I'd try to find a machine that shows on the screen where to place yourself etc.
