Which is the best secondary state school in Oxford?

I have heard good things about The Cherwell School, but it is large. I would investigate St Bartholemew's as a priority.

Which are the best 6th forms in Oxford and surrounding areas?

There are many excellent 6th form colleges and schools who also have a 6th form in and around Oxford.

What it largely comes down to is what qualifications you wish to take, and how much you are able to pay.

State-funded OCVC offers 6th form courses, and The Cherwell School has a 6th Form.

Privately, the options are extensive:

6th Forms:
D'Overbroeck's College
St. Claires (offer international baccalaureate)

Schools with a 6th Form:
Abingdon School
Magdalen College School
St. Edwards School
Rugby College

You may find that places are harder to get at short-notice from the schools, as opposed to the 6th Form colleges.

As far as a recommendation goes, all the privately-funded options are academically excellent. If pushed, I would recommend Magdalen College School and St Claires from the private selection and The Cherwell School from the state-funded.

Where can I get my thesis bound?

I think the Newagents on Turl Street advertises it, as does HT Solutions on the High Street. And of course the wonderful Maltbys - sadly no longer in the centre - will do a fine job if you can get it to Horspath Industrial estate.

Why is so hard to get a job ?

There is a lot of competition in the job market right now. I expect a lot of people are trying to go for the same jobs.

Daily Info has a job application advice page here: http://www.dailyinfo.co.uk/effective_job_applications which might be useful.

Good luck!

Looking for advanced tennis players

There are a couple of tennis clubs:
North Oxford: http://noltc.co.uk/
East Oxford: http://www.oxfordcitytennis.org.uk/
Who may have advanced players and tournaments.
I remember seeing adverts for Oxford Tennis League - I think they are cross-club/crowd-club so you can play your matches anywhere, but I expect they will have or know who are the best players around.

Good luck & happy serving!

Best place to buy a used van in Oxford?

I sold my van through Daily Info's Cars and Motorcycles page - http://www.dailyinfo.co.uk/cars-motorcycles - some very good value things come up on there sometimes.
Locally for dealers you could try the dreaded Humphris who have a used dealership in Cowley (Garsington Road) or more recommended would be Wheatley Car Centre. Although they say 'car' I think they do vans too.
Hartwell on the Botley Road might have something p/exchange.
Put up a wanted ad maybe.
Under 3K you're more likely to find the Berlingo/Partner rather than anything but a very trashed Connect. The Combo is a fine van too.
