Daily Info Auctions |
|||
Daily Info runs two kinds of auctions: 1. Discount Auctions...are of meals, services and days out (etc.) in and around Oxford. (Click here to see our current and recent auctions). The winning bid will usually be a little under the market value of the event or meal, so the prize is the discount. 2. Charity Auctions We occasionally run charity auctions (which may be for items that are unavailable except through our site, such as tickets to events that have sold out). In these cases, the item will usually go for something over its market value, we may start the bidding at a reserve price (usually equal to its market value), and the aim is to generate funds for a charitable cause. The bidding page for each individual item will make it clear whether or not it is a charity auction, and whether the auction has been started at a reserve price. How to bid: Have a look at our Auctions page (www.dailyinfo.co.uk/whatson/AuctionSpecial.htm) to see what items are currently on offer. Click on the link to the bidding page you want (under "How to Enter" at the right of the page). At the bottom of the bidding page you can place your bid for an item. You will need to refresh your screen to see your bid (and those of others) appear. You can do this by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard and pressing F5. What happens then? When the auction closes, we will contact the winner by phone. We will then take payment from the winner by credit or debit card, and send them a card to act as validation when they go to claim their prize. Terms and Conditions: Unless otherwise stated, prizes must be claimed within 30 days of winning. If we cannot contact the highest bidder by midnight on the day the auction closes, or if the highest bid is fake, we reserve the right to restart the whole auction from scratch, if appropriate. If we say "all proceeds to charity," we mean it. Daily Info runs auctions in good faith and cannot take any responsibility for the actions of the auction winner nor for the company offering the prize (although we will take all reasonable steps to sort out misunderstandings should any occur). NB: We cannot provide a new prize nor offer a refund should the winner fail to claim their prize within the specified time period (usually 30 days from the date of the auction's close). We reserve the right to cancel an auction at our discretion at any point. In the unlikely event of the winning bid being smaller than the amount of money we have agreed to pay to the organisation offering the prize, we will pay them the value of the winning bid instead.
