Points of Departure: Photography from Senegal by Mamadou Gomis and Judith Quaz

This exhibition examines the phenomenon of migration, by placing the transatlantic slave trade and contemporary migration from West Africa in a single frame. The photographs document migrant's absences as they are felt by the families they left behind in pursuit of a better life.

    Alan Bennett: History Boy

In 2008 Alan Bennett gave his literary papers to the Bodleian Library describing the gift as 'an obligation repaid [for his free state education]. I see this gift as some small recompense both to the University and also to the state'. This display of material from Bennett's archive is the Bodleian's own 'small recompense' to the author in the year of his 80th birthday.
