A great discovery! The upstairs meeting room at the ancient White Hart is a brilliant, peaceful and atmospheric place for talking, reflecting, planning - and thinking great thoughts! And we weren't interrupted even once by the resident ghost - known as The Lady. The room can accommodate ten or so people comfortably around the table - and windows either side make it light and airy. While blinds make it possible to view powerpoint/slides if necessary

I took my team there this week to work on an important analysis of documentation. And it was just the right place - especially as we could take a break and walk along the river as well. There's a continuous supply of coffee and tea - and you're welcome to take your own food. All of which makes this a very reasonable place to go. Thanks to Amanda and the team!

Beautiful place, a nice beer garden, a conservatory when it's cold, good beer, superb front-of-house staff and grossly let down by poor food. Venison carpaccio drowned in pepper and in portions so small they wouldn't fill a hole in a tooth. Mushroom parcels that were rock hard on top, slimy underneath and tasteless in the middle. Salad and chips that must have been on the Exxon Valdez they were so oily. The napkin looked like a rorschach inkblot test, only translucent with grease.

Now doing very basic pub food at lunch times - 12 - 2. ish and evenings. Frozen peas and fish and chips and sandwiches etc. Cheap and filling. Posh nosh is next door and much pricier there.The beer is better and cheaper here.

It has started doing Sunday roast dinners again - about £10 a head - traditional pub dinners with very large portions. Cheaper than the neighbouring pub, but don't expect gastro standards or fancy cuisine. The garden has been cleaned up so you can sit out the back on the grass this summer. Not doing food at present - just a laid-back, pleasant, genuine old drinking pub with Wi-Fi and darts. It's probably the oldest pub in the village after The Trout, in a listed building with 17th century stone. It retains its original name, unlike the neighboring gastro-pubbed Red Lion which was changed to Jacob's Inn, and charges far more than the White Hart for drinks.

It hopes to be a "community" pub and place for events such as the Sunday kids film club, and various gigs. See the more up to date facebook site for latest developments, or just pop in for a drink that is not over priced, even if eating elsewhere.

This is a pub where you can relax and you know you are going to have an excellent meal at a good price. Have been a number of times and it is my favourite place to eat in Oxford. The family who run it are top class - like eating at a friend's house.

Great bar meal on Monday - piping hot, scrumptious scampi and really good chips. A "real" pub - unpretentious - where you can relax.

The White Hart is now a free house, run by a very pleasant family. We have been in for a pint a couple of times in the last three months - they have 3 hand-pulled real ales. The Abingdon Bridge [Session ale of local micro-brewery Loose Cannon - Ed.] was excellent.

A really nice pub. The landlord was very friendly, and the food was amazing (and in very big portions). We went on a Sunday lunchtime and had lamb shank and turkey wrapped in bacon, with a vast variety of vegetables. We were impressed all round.
