Avoid this. Inept and unskilled remake of a 70s Bollywood film. Plot spoilers follow because who cares? This is a twisty movie about a gangland boss (Don) pretending to be dead, another man pretending to be a cop and then pretending to be dead, and other people pretending to be who they are not for no particular reason. The basic story is fine, there are some inventive moments, and the film would be interesting were it not for some crashing drawbacks. The hero is played by a truly awful, pathetic actor, a Mr Khan, who is the Bollywood equivelent of Tom Cruise except he simply can't act without ridiculously over-acting. Two other major characters in the movie are acted well, though, showing him up horribly. More than one twist revelation is not punched home and comes off as a damp yawn, where they could have been good. The movie does try to cram too much plot into 150 mins. It lost my interest quite soon after an impressive set of titles and I was bored, looking at my watch. The songs stink too apart from one rather random gratuitous crowd pleaser at a Ganesh festival. On the other hand, if you're a fan of little Mr Khan, perhaps you don't give a monkey's.
