I first came across Michele Field and her work at a Banbury Canal festival one very chilly and wet day some years ago, back then her work impressed me and now, some years later she continues to impress with her use of colour and brush, not just her canal paintings but flowers, really powerful, and commissions, well, a true hard working and skilled artist who is now receiving the attention and credit she deserves.

I am a real big fan of Michele’s work and after buying a painting for myself and a couple as 'special occasion' gifts, I decided to commission Michele to paint a portrait of my parents’ dog, Bella. The results were amazing; she managed portray Bella very accurately and really captured the essence of her character. My parents were very pleased with the end result.

Michele’s work ranges from flowers and fruits to waterways and local scenes. I would most definitely recommend taking a look for something that catches your eye and would also highly recommend Michele’s pet portraits.

This lovely exhibition of canal and flower paintings by Michele Field should not be missed if you have a passion for colour and realism. Michele’s work is finely detailed with assured brush work. The wonderfully peaceful compositions in the canal scenes echo the quiet waters of the locks and reaches. The flower paintings are very different with bold colours and a controlled stylistic design.

An excellent and varied exhibition. These pictures show a real maturity by the artist - especially the fruit and vegetables. I heard favourable comments from people looking at the paintings. The canal scenes were great!
