Ever since the success of Rambo - First blood, Sly Stallone has been trying to replicate the action and intensity of Rambo. But instead of choosing to tell an intelligent story about the troubles in Burma, he opts for a full out blood bath. This may please some fans, but personally I was disappointed that though Sly's body is showing the process of time, he has yet to bring gravity to a film about genocide. True, what should I have been expecting when I choose to see a Rambo film? But I believe that First Blood actually had something to say about the Vietnam War. While the sequels had failed to replicate this, I assumed that like last year’s Rocky Balboa, this film was going to make an amends for some appalling sequels. On a positive note, I couldn't fault Sly's direction and he still has screen presence.
