Artweeks 2008

Oxford's annual art festival in which local artists open their homes and studios to the public.
Artweeks has been wonderful. It's nice to see so many artists creating very unique and inspirational pieces. Thank you to all those that have let us into a part of your world. From your own homes to churches, barns and cafes your creations truly are magnificent.

The only things I was disappointed about was that there was no Korky Paul work on show, my village did not participate, some places were difficult to find and I would have loved to get on the photography walk but it was fully booked.
10 of out 10 group is very interesting. The silk paintings were amazing, although the fused glass
was my favourite, beautiful colours and textures... A must see.
Sculptural ceramics were also very good, especiallly the rustic range and pairs of birds. Very well made and glazed!
During this week, I would highly recommend a visit to Ludwik at 74 Linkside Avenue, Oxford. The – mainly human – subject matter of his finely wrought drawings and paintings could be said to emanate from the subconscious. While pleasing to the eye in their abundance of detail, colour and texture, the impressive works contain multiple layers of thought and meaning. This is not surprising from an artist who also has a deep interest in science and music. Well worth the visit if you like art that gets you thinking.
