Sadly, I found this show rather dull and unimpressive. However, I’m still a fan of theirs, despite the fact that this show's just a repeat of the festival set they've been touring this year. The first half introduces the characters - which, as everyone knows them already (otherwise they wouldn't be there), was really just away of using up time. Admittedly it was vaguely amusing. The second half was better, with a mock play by Howard Moon which was the only piece of material that appeared to be new. If I had known that it was pretty much identical to the festival, I wouldn’t have wasted my money! They are still comic geniuses, but I suspect they have become a bit too comfortable with fame, which - as a short-lived thing - they are in the middle of milking to the max for their money's worth. Having said that, the only one of the troupe who seems to be a bit too big for his boots these days is Noel Fielding. When asked for an autograph by one fan, his bouncer said “no chance” - which would have been fair enough had there been over twenty fans crowding round, but as there were only three it seemd a bit much. Luckily though we met Julian Barrett (Howard Moon) and Dave Brown (Bollo) who were very kind and signed the autographs of the waiting fans. Noel didn't even acknowledge the existence of his fans. He should probably be more respectful, given that it's the fans that prop up the empire by buying all the overpriced merchandise (£12 for a program!).
