I would like to respond to Mr Weston's comments, dated 26/05/09. I for one am heartily sick of people posting their comments on public information websites/blogs such as this one, without a single thought for the hard work & dedication it takes to put together a show as challenging & choreographically complex as this one. His tone is patronising in the extreme, ill thought through and downright insulting. Does he really feel that 'It was OK' is an appropriate or insightful way to begin his review?
I feel, along with many others that saw the show, that in many respects it was outstanding, indeed this view point was vindicated by several musical theatre professionals who also came to see the show with me. The band were not too loud & the staging was not weak. It was a joy to see and hear a full show band instead of the usual Keyboard MD and synthesised music of many professional productions.
The talk as I left the theatre (not just from enthusiastic friends and family!), was how exhilarating the audience had found the whole production. Did we see the same show? I'm beginning to wonder...
