This is a short documentary made by Michael Shea about Maxwell Street, Chicago, in 1965 and released on DVD in 2008. It's in black and white, and is very straightforward, focussing on the street's Sunday market and street musicians.
It takes you to another world - a world where Blues belongs. From the smallest trumpet in the world, to the chicken man; the film is almost as cult as gospel music. In a good way, because the rare footage shows you in full sight the creepy, distanced, haunted root of Blues.
