Monty Halls will be talking about the filming of the BBC series Great Barrier Reef, Great Escape, and Fisherman's Apprentice. The talk includes unseen footage and images from oceans around the world. This is will be an entertaining and humorous insight into Monty's career supported by strong visual images. At the end will be a Q & A as well as book signing session.
“I can also reveal,” said Monty, “that due to what seems popular demand, Reuben will be coming along to the talks as well. I always suspected I was the supporting act to a dog, and this goes to prove it!”
EXCLUSIVE: Monty will be telling the story of the four great diving mysteries he has been filming for a new Channel Five series to be broadcast at the end of this year.
“It seems to me that all the great mysteries that remain on planet earth are underwater” said Monty, “and we've launched four expeditions this year that have really pushed our limits in terms of diving and filming techniques.”
The expeditions have explored the single dive site in Egypt that has claimed more lives than any other, surveyed an extraordinary set of underwater ruins off the coast of a tiny island in Japan, mapped a ghostly shipwreck in Thunder Bay in the Great Lakes, and charted a mysterious sinkhole in Namibia said to contain plundered German gold from the First World War.
“These project have presented very real challenges, and have produced some fascinating results,” said Monty “I'm very much looking forward to the series coming out, but for now this talk represents a sneak preview of the drama and dives themselves. I can honestly say that these projects have been the most demanding, and certainly the most fascinating, that I have been involved in throughout my diving career.”
