The organiser says:
"They have taken time with her. Dalanda decorated her feet with henna; Aisha, using the same substance, adorned her hands. With patience and practised hands." So begins 'Sweet Sisterhood', one of the pieces in Natty Mark Samuels' exhibition. It epitomises Natty's style of writing - informing and educating in a way which gently delivers you into the midst of the event. His work is resplendent, colourful and shimmering! If you are interested in learning more about the societies and people of Islamic Pre-Colonial Africa get along to Donnington Doorstep and read more! Alternatively, his blog will provide a link to the poems and prose in on-line publications.
