This is a throwback to the type of 'woman in peril' thrillers that used to star Ashley Judd in the late 90s, the kind that would end up on the Hallmark channel were it not for a bit too much violence and swearing.
A distinguished cast can do nothing to animate the stiff corpse of a script, nor sell to us the ludicrous contrivances that are presumably the fault of the book. The flat, featureless production design must be the worst I have seen all year.
Doze off to this film on a long-haul flight if you must, but on no account part with any cash. I wanted Nicole's ailment so I could forget I ever saw it.
