I and my family have been visiting the Hang Chow for the last 16+ years. We use the restaurant for eat in or take away 3 to 4 times a month. Over the last couple of months we have had a couple of really bad meals. I phoned both times to complain. I knew the restaurant staff had changed, but was assured the chef had not. I even went in one day and had to wait to order as the member of staff was doing her college work. Tonight I have investigated the internet and found it has been taken over.

I booked a table for 20 for our term-end party at Hang Chow - it's a familiar place that my friends and I go to every week.

Saw the last post complaining about the rudeness of the waiting staff after the management changed hands - I DO NOT agree, they are still as helpful as they used to be, and the food is still very nice as well as cheap!!

Although the restaurant was busy during our party the staff didn't omit us at all and were still very attentive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I`ve just returned from what has to be my 50th visit to this restaurant.

*However*, what used to be a fantastic restaurant has now been turned into something else by the new management. My friends and I frequented Hang Chow for the last 6 months, sometimes even going as many as 3 times a week. The food is fantastic and the amount of choice you get on the All You Can Eat (all cooked to order; no buffet here!) is brilliant!

Unfortunately, with the new management taking over the once wonderful Hang Chow has now lost its charm. Two of the waitresses are still there from the original staff, but the kind homely feeling that Hang Chow once gave has now been lost to new faces.

The food here is still good, don`t get me wrong, but the new staff now seem sometimes even downright rude. I am writing a letter to the new owner of the business telling them how dis-satisfied I am with the level of service that the restaurant now provides.

I am sad to say that I will not be returning, though I will indeed miss the chicken wings, the deep fried bean curd, and the mixed vegetable stirfries...

Excellent food for a surprisingly low price, just don`t expect to be welcomed like you used to...

My father and I came here for dinner midweek in December 2007.

Initial impressions were good - clean, tidy, cosy. The staff were polite, friendly and gave no cause for complaint whatsoever.

To start we had spicy chicken wings, ribs and spring rolls, all of which were extremely tasty, if a little over-salty for my own tastes. We then moved onto crispy duck which, whilst not truly outstanding was certainly fresh and well cooked. The rest of the main dishes were unspectacular. I was particularly disappointed in that my vegetables were swimming in what the waiting staff described as "Oyster Sauce".

The meal as a whole was a nice experience, but those vegetables tainted it. I might return, but not with anyone I was trying to treat to a special meal - would be nice with a small group of friends.
