Pub open all day 11am - 11pm. Managers James and Roy in at present. Pub rented from Fullers. Excellent pint. Friendly local pub. Good food. Quiz on Sunday nights. Dogs welcome. Open wood / coal fire.

The Butchers is our local. Has been though a few changes over the past couple of years but we have always enjoyed it. The new menu is great and we are never disappointed with the food or the beer - delighted to find black sheep ale on offer when we were last in!
There is always a good crowd of locals in there and it's a popular spot with the hospital lot! We also popped in one afternoon with friends who had a small child and staff were still friendly!

New Tenants (makes a change from uninterested managers) seem to be settling in well.
Technical problems have slowed the introduction of their full menu but if the temp one is anything to go by - my mouth is watering already. Very friendly helpful couple, nice cosy pub. Good food and beer and the rugby world cup - what more do you want!

Difficult to find back street boozer that is still very popular at lunch times thanks to its cheap bar menu. I like the gazebo that covers the enclosed rear patio in summer. Beware limited opening hours as I have turned up before and it's been shut, and parking can be a bit of a mission at lunchtimes as the road is very narrow.
