I stayed her on my first trip to Oxford and loved it so much that I come back several times. It's great value for money.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. They are equipped with a desk, tv, hairdryer, free wifi, coffee-tea and hot chocolate :) making facilities and cookies. Besides a pick-mix cooked breakfast (vegetarians can also have a veggie sausage) there is also cereal, joghurt and fresh fruit to choose from. It's all these little things and the nice owners that make you feel at home here.

In some of the rooms at the front of the house you can hear quite a bit of traffic noise. If you are sensitive to this, ask for a room at the back of the house and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful stay.

The Acorn is about a 20 minute walk or a couple of minutes by bus from the city-centre. Cowley Road with its many restaurants is a five-minute walk away. Just across the street there is the Magdalen Arms pub. The prices here are a bit higher than in the average pub, but you also get higher quality food (new menu every day).

I am from France and was travelling in England for a couple of weeks. I stayed in that place a couple of nights to visit Oxford. The location is quite good. You can walk to the city centre or alternatively there is a bus stop in front of the guest house that will take you there in 5 min.

The rooms are affordable, very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful (especially the blonde lady with glasses). The English breakfast was also very nice. There are also free internet and parking spaces.

I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone coming to visit Oxford.

Stayed at several guest houses/Inns/hotels/Travel Lodges etc during my business tour of the South East. I found the Acorn on Botley Rd (about fifty yards North of the VW garage on the opposite side of the road) and have not since (nor before) stayed anywhere else that compares overall. I wished only to stay a single night but was there a week or more. Room: very good; food: the best; service: polite, friendly, discreet - charming; price: for the quality... Hmmm, the best?

Not very impressed; I've stayed at a lot of guest houses, but this was the worst place I have stayed. The owners were very helpful, but the guest house looked very tired from the outside, and also the furnishings inside. The rooms were clean, but our room had the smallest en-suite I have ever seen, and the breakfast was not very good.

Had never visited Oxford before, but found the owner very helpful. The place was spotless, very comfortable and well-organised, the food was excellent. There was also internet access which was most helpful. Our young daughter suffers from a serious illness and the owner and her family went out of their way to make sure she had everything she needed - this was the first time we had ever taken the children to any guest house. The location is very convenient, just a short bus ride from the City enabling us to leave the car in the free parking area. There are enjoyable walks along the Thames less than half a mile away. I was so impressed that I put a page on my personal website to recommend the place. We will be back!

I stayed here with my family for two nights. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, bright and airy. I was impressed with the fact that there is internet access too. There is a bus stop right outside that is a few minutes ride into the centre of Oxford. It is a two minute walk to the River Thames where you can hire a punt or pedalo and there are some lovely places to visit within walking distance. (We caught a bus into the centre and took the children to the Natural History Mueseum.) I cannot recommend this establishment enough.

Brilliant B&B.

I stayed here just 1 night, but the house was overall clean and Kate (the owner) was very kind.
The breakfast was large, maybe twice bigger, than in other B&Bs.

A+++++
