It is a nice place, warm and quiet, truly pleasant to stay as I did. It was on a main bus route, near to a shopping & restaurant area. The room was clean and comfortable, staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent, all in a good value for money. After we were checked out, they let us leave our bags for the day even till 10 pm. This was very helpful. I'll definitely stay there again.
Maria (Unverified), 06/07/10 Adams Guest House is a very nice place cause the room is very clean, the service is very polite, and the price is reasonable. 05/04/10 After spending a few days at Adams Guest House I found it to be a great base for visiting Oxford and all the historic buildings and Universities. I thought the price was very reasonable, the food good and the service polite and friendly. I would recommend people to stay here. Bob (Unverified), 23/01/10 First night was ok, but the second night my girlfriend had some bedbugs, sorry to say! The manager (who may also have been the owner) was very polite, and the breakfast was very good, but I don't think these really made up for it. jensinger (Unverified), 05/01/10 I highly recommend Adams Guest House in Summertown. The quality and quantity of Breakfast are amazing and the new ensuite facility has made this guest house a comforting place to stay with lowest price. They even did not mind me check in at 00:45 in the morning. New Yorker (DI User), 13/05/09 I really enjoyed staying in Adam's Guest House. The new manager and new assistant are nice persons. They are friendly, services are perfect and the breakfast was fantastic. Grace (DI User), 21/11/08 If only I had read this before!! As stated by Lucifix, we found that the place was not clean. We booked 6 weeks in advance and on arrival we were told there would be no-one to cook breakfast. OK so we got £5 reduction because of this, (but we subsequently pushed for £10 because where can two people get cooked brekfast for £5??) All in all a disgrace and marred our week-end in Oxford. Liz (Unverified), 28/01/08 Proprietor / owner does not appear to sleep on the premises so is not affected by all night partying of guests and is not available by phone to deal with guests partying from 2 to 5 in the morning. The worst night's sleep I have had for years and I had to press for a token reduction which was given grudgingly. Take your chances, but you are at the mercy of the consideration of other guests who may be partying students and may not respond to repeated requests for some peace. Would have been worth paying more for a good night's sleep. Disappointed (Unverified), 12/04/07 I do not feel that bad. I was allowed to check in at 9am and left my luggage there for one more day after check out. kevin (Unverified), 20/12/06 I would not recommend that anyone stay here. We booked a twin room a few days ago, and were disgusted. The carpets were stained and smelly. When we ran the taps, an unspeakably horrid odour came up from the drain and filled the whole room. The wall was stained, and the space of the room was awkward and small. You have to share a toilet, and the shared toilets were not clean. The whole place was pervaded by a weird smell of cooking. We were told to pay for the two nights we were staying on arrival (which is apparently very unusual for a guest house), and when we departed in disgust without staying the night we had to argue with the owner for about twenty minutes on the phone, and even then he only gave us a partial refund. The horror the horror. Lucifix (Unverified), 03/06/06 Please fill in the boxes and then click "Send Review" to submit your review for Adams Guest House. | |
