These guys are the hub of film & video life for most amateurs in Oxford. They run evening classes and weekend workshops taking you from the basics of how to shoot (digital) film, edit, animate, record sound etc through to sophisticated direction and specialist techniques. See website for a full list of current courses. In the summer they introduce the next generation to production techniques in the Summerscreen festival aimed at teenagers and culminating in the Summerscreening to show the films they've made, usually at the UPP, Pegasus or Phoenix. Once you've done a course and made yourself known to the guys you can hire equipment, or list yourself on the skills database of people to be contacted if someone's missing a cameraman. The email newsletter is also a terrific source of opportunities, mostly unpaid of course!Wheelchair friendly. Next events at OFVM Oxford Film & Video Makers
