I stayed in this hotel over Christmas and new year. I had a great time due to the central location. I was able to visit all the tourist attractions. Moreover, I could comfotably party without any worry about getting home as the hotel was just walking distance from any night club in the city. Staff were very friendly and had a very amicable disposition. Would definitiely reccomend Victoria House Hotel. This hotel is clean, the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, but the overall experience is average. This is not really a hotel; rather, it is just some bedrooms above a bar in the middle of town. It is on one of the less salubrious streets in the city and is therefore noisy, and the basement nightclub is irritatingly audible in the 1st floor bedrooms until late into the night. There is no breakfast room or restaurant - a continental breakfast is delivered to your room on a tray. My bed sheets were worn, my blankets thin and I thought the room furniture was mis-matched. If this hotel were anywhere but Oxford I would have paid about £25 a night for this standard of accommodation, but I paid £75 per night for my stay here. Overall, the Victora House Hotel is not good value but is tolerable.
