I stayed at St. Michael's Guest House in June 2006, and enjoyed the cosy, homely atmosphere and the friendly staff. Margaret (the landlady) even gave me tips on going around in Oxford since I was new to the place. She also woke up early on the day I was leaving to prepare an early breakfast for me. Even though I could not find a room when next I was in Oxford, St. Michael's was my second home because they even helped me find alternative accommodation. I recommend St. Michael's to anyone coming to Oxford for the first time, also because you can just push your bags from Gloucester Green bus station and you are home! The Cornmarket shopping street is also a stone's throw away so you will find it very central and convenient.
Happy client, 15/09/06 During my two months working in Oxford, I have stayed in 5 B&B guest houses in the centre but I have to say that this is the best one in terms of location, cosiness, friendliness and affordability and breakfast. -Breakfast comes with big portion and the landlady even prepared early breakfast for me despite their opening hours being from 8.30am. -The shower is hot and strong and the bathroom is new, clean and warm inside. - The room is cosy, full of light and extremely clean and pleasant. - The location is right in the centre in a quiet street around the corner from the train and coach station. - For £36, I had stayed at other places but they are not half as good. -The landlady is very cheerful and friendly. She waited to open the door for me when got there from the airport at 2.00am. Tho Tran, 24/11/05
