The best, REAL food in Oxford full-stop. Skip all the hot dogs and burgers, etc in the front of the shop and go to the traditional Turkish dishes, always warm, in the back. Awesome healthy meals including rice, traditional bread and salad -- all for a fiver. Healthy and filling. I rarely eat out anywhere else these days.

I love the Istanbul. The mix of traditional take away and kebab house favourites, great turkish food and friendly service makes it a pleasure to eat there. Their "southern fried chicken" tastes amazing, though the frying is a bit dodgy and the coating does tend to be uneven and a tad greasy. My bf who's a KFC fan, or who rather was, is now a complete convert. The coating tastes amazing and the chicken is so moist. It's chicken that they seem to excel at. I love their chicken kebab, with garlic and chilli sauce - it's sweet, spicy and smokey.

Yet it's the feeling of the place I like most - the staff are great, it's spotless and they are always willing to help. The delivery service for orders over £8 is playing havoc with my waist line.
My only gripe is that the chips can be a bit undercooked for my taste, but tbh everything is cooked fresh and at least they are not fries!
