I really like this place. The coffee is super good as are the cakes, toasties and smoothies. You feel like the coffee is made with lots of TLC! The prices are very reasonable too and staff very friendly. My only concern is the laptop crowd have started to descend and in some cases are not happy about sharing tables. This can be a problem as it is a relatively small space. I hope they remember it is primarily a cafe and not a workspace. Please visit and support them - they really deserve it! dappy (Unverified), 01/05/12 Without a doubt the best coffee in Oxford, and the best banter with Dan & Dan, and the very lovely Lois. Transverse light coming in both sides. Dirt Cobbler (Unverified), 04/04/12 I've been wanting to try this cafe for a while but was hesitant as it was above the bike shop and I didnt know what to expect, but they now have a sign outside with a photo of the cafe and the menu and it inspired me to go for lunch today. I think this is my new favourite lunch spot in Oxford. Great toastie (good value too), delicious banana bread and really chilled atomosphere. Will be returning soon!! 21/03/12 Unquestionably the best coffee in town. These guys are serious about their caffeine. Light and airy venue, great place to sit and study for a while. Tash (Unverified), 18/10/11 Delightful brownies, excellent coffee, friendly atmosphere and very nice service. The chat and company are first class, ask for a Hamish special and thank me later. 12/10/11 Whether you're a bike enthusiast, a coffee lover, or just a poor soul wanting to escape the bland starbucks/costa/blahblahBORING proliferation of blandness in the coffee-consumerist world, Zappi's is the place for you. For months I've been wanting to visit this bike-shop caf, but had been wary of approaching it since I'd been told by the guys downstairs that my beloved, hour-old bike purchase from a french bloke about to flee the country was a 'write-off'. ANYWAY. They were probably right. But the cafe! Is absolutely superb. Upstairs from the said bike-shop (and operating independently, despite the number of wheels and lycra-clad cyclists who frequent the place), bright white walls, long windows, bike-bearing beams, the best Americano I've had in Oxford and home-made melt in the mouth brownie await you. Excellent music and service with a smile (and jokes too). They do brilliantly priced toasties as well, starting from £2 a pop. Je recommende. cookles (Unverified), 20/09/11 Simply the best coffee in town, served by the nicest blokes and in the most interesting location. Discover it now before it gets too popular! KTrout (DI User), 09/09/11 Wonderfully relaxed place to escape the crowds throughout the centre of town. It's clear the coffee is crafted with experience, skill and attention and made perfectly every time. The ever changing variety of homemade cakes are also an accompaniment too good to miss. Will definitely be going back. Rob (Unverified), 16/07/11 Just stumbled upon this cute cafe! Definitely a hidden gem. I loved watching the Tour de France (on silent) as I typed away at a paper and sipped my excellent cappuccino. Rachel (Unverified), 03/07/11 Zappi's is probably the best café I have been to in Oxford. They serve consistently excellent coffee and loose leaf teas (in proper tea cups!) in a bright, airy space. Really friendly place. And amazing banana bread! Cat (Unverified), 07/06/11 Whilst in town looking to get out of the rain I saw the signs for Bike Zone and out of curiosity I went there, to be pleasantly surprised because not only is it a cool looking bike shop but the cafe upstairs was a real treat. It serves a great pot of tea for 2 for a mere £2. And I don't think I've used a tea strainer or had loose leaf tea since the days of Brooke Bond and their tea cards. The tea was great and the cafe has a great ambiance surrounded by biking memorabilia and a great view of the showroom with loads of good looking bikes. The staff are really friendly and attentive and I will go there again as a first choice for a break. Glees (Unverified), 31/05/11 A great find! Through the little cobbled entry and up the stairs and through the bike shop is this little cafe which serves really great coffee - particular attention given to my skinny cappucino to get the right consistency of froth, difficult given the less fatty milk (apparently). There are bikers a-plenty, but you don't have to be one to enjoy the coffee.
