I have walked past this many times and keep meaning to go in. I finally did today to get lunch for myself and colleagues. Between us, we tried the soup, panini, salad and cakes, and everyone agreed that it was very tasty! I loved the decor, was very pleased by the friendly service and will definitely go back. A very good addition to Oxford!

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the local and homemade food with unique flavor offerings. Small upstairs but still seating downstairs, adorable decor, reminds me of vintage countryside. The staff were welcoming and positive. I would go back.

I absolutely love this cafe on George Street. The staff are friendly; the atmosphere is warm and welcoming; and the food is delicious.

I have to question 'BakerBaker' on their review. I have been going to Granola since the cafe opened in January, and all the food and drinks are excellent value for money, the ciabattas are certainly not 'small' (unless you are used to eating a somewhat larger meal portion), and all the salad is 100% homemade by the owner each day - you can not get fresher than the salad here. The salad selection is even vegan and vegetarian friendly. All the cakes are homemade.

I hope this cafe is here to stay, as it is a fabulous addition to the city.

Came here with my children last week. It looks lovely, nicely decorated though a bit dark downstairs. The tables for four are a little cramped but we squeezed in. Ordering was a little tricky as the staff member seemed reluctant to split a sandwich between two children. The food (mini Ciabattas) was fairly good but I have to disagree that all of the cakes are homemade. The pasta salad (price by weight) also turned out to be a little pricey and didn't look or taste home made either. I would visit again for a coffee and a chat with a friend but there are better lunch options in Oxford. Needs more variety for me.

Lovely new family run cafe, fantastic salads, freshly made and different! Lovely warm ciabattas with a variety of fillings, and salad on the side. Vintage vibe feel to the place, with lots of little details, cosy cushions, sofa downstairs and it even has a loo! You will go and find yourself ordering more than a sandwich.... Cakes look delicious too but so far I have held off! We frequent this venue after having previously gone to Brothers in the Covered Market, which is lovely too, but have been lured away by the delights of Granola!

This is my new favorite place in Oxford. The space looks small from the outside which made me hesitant to go in, but they do have downstairs seating, so it is not as small as it looks. The ambiance is completely charming and the food is very fresh and homemade. They have a range of delicious homemade soups and sandwiches that go beyond the typical panini fare so commonplace in Oxford. When I was there, they had fresh cakes coming out of the oven. Absolutely impressive. They also have a salad bar in a similar vein to the Alpha Bar in the Covered Market/Woodstock Road Deli. For a meal, coffee, or a fresh-baked treat, this place is a fantastic find. A unique and wonderful independent addition to the George Street area which is so over-full of chain shops!

I LOVE this new cafe! It's so nice when somewhere new and individual opens up in the city centre and this place certainly didn't disappoint. The decor is chintzy vintage (right up my street!) and the ambiance is relaxed and cosy. The staff are warm and friendly, and it was nice to hear that all their ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. I didn't eat on this occasion, but the salads, cakes and nibbles on display looked divine!

In short, this is a comfy and cosy cafe and would be the perfect meeting place for a drink, a spot of lunch and a catch-up with friends. I wish the owners success in their new venture, and thank them for providing Oxford with a lovely new indie!

Can't really fault it we have had the sandwiches, cakes, salad etc often go there for lunch. The owners are very warm and welcoming. Its the sort of place that deserves to do well and become a permanant feature.

The orange cake is especially good.

My friend and I went this new George Street cafe this morning for a cup of tea, which quickly turned into two. The new owners of Granola have transformed a former baguette bar into a cosy cafe - from the outside, it looks quite small but there's a much more spacious seating area downstairs. The decor is very "shabby chic", with the mismatched china and chalkboard menus giving it a vintage vibe. I plumped for Egyptian mint tea, which came in its own individual pot, and a large slice of homemade lemon polenta cake, both of which were lovely, and will definitely be back to try lunch - there was a very exciting selection of doorstep sandwiches and salads in the chiller. It's definitely worth supporting such a great independent business in a street and besieged by chains as George Street!
