If you love music then the Ex is the place for you, You will get some great music from bands travelling all over England and Europe to play here, so you get a good range of sounds from rock to folk. It's set just on the outskirts of the main busy town centre. A very pleasant setting and comfortable size room...with friendly staff. A must especially to catch the good bands.
djv, 07/12/07 Very well re-furbished, visited five times and yet to feel welcome or see a faint smile, particulary the tall guy. No bitter on one visit and no food next time. Good music. splash, 09/09/07 Had much needed re-fit last year, 'The Ex', as it likes to brand itself, is more of a music venue than a drinking man's pub these days, with a permanent stage at the back of the main bar area and live music at least 3 nights a week. Despite its classy exterior and modern interior, the face-lift appears to be only skin-deep, especially around the bar area. Good juke box with classic rock rubbing shoulders with lots of ska and reggae, friendly staff, and watch out for Casper the pub dog. Has stupid rule meaning Leffe beer can only be bought in halfs. Food menu just added I believe. Joe B, 14/03/07
