Their seaweed is the best, with the chicken chow mein, a classic! :D

We go to Noodle Nation as a family regularly, and it never disappoints. Fast and friendly, the food is always excellent. Definitely go- and if you do, treat yourself to their Salt and Pepper Squid starter - I'd go just for that alone.

I needed somewhere quick to eat before watching Kick Ass. It was quiet so I was able to sit down as soon as I walked in. Also the food arrived within what seemed like 5 seconds of ordering. I had the vegetable spring rolls (of which 5p goes to National Autistic Society) and Sweet and Sour Mixed vegetable, tofu puff and cashew with egg fried rice. I'm not much of a food critic but it tasted nice and fullfilling. Not sure how I'd feel having to share a large table with complete strangers but that's just me. Also the dessert menu could maybe be improved by offering things other than Ice Cream but I'm not sure what.

My friend and I visit the bar quite often. We enjoy it very much. We notice that a lot of students go there, also that they have a discount. It would be really nice if they could include O.A.P.s in this offer. Oxford businesses are well known for discount for students, but seem to forget other low incomed people. It would be really good if the Noodle Bar was one of the first to think of doing this for the O.A.P.s. and would be very much appreciated by people who enjoy your food...

As the previous review pointed out, it is a very friendly place, very clean, the girls and boys who serve us have always been very polite and friendly.

The noodle bar is great if you just want to pop into somewhere and have a quick meal.
the portions are large and you are never left feeling hungry, if anything, a little too full up.
The waiters/waitress' are great and normally always helpful and friendly.
I go here often as you get a lot for a cheap price.
The food it tasty, but I wouldn't reccomend it if you are watching your weight.
LOVE IT

I love the Noodlebar. It's quick, easy and unpretentious. It doesn't claim to be anything it's not - i.e. you don't get any of the mock gaudyness of other chinese restaurants or the high prices of other Oxford restaurants.

The staff are generally friendly and the service is speedy. It's popular and it does get busy. The service is a bit rushed at these times - but then most restaurants are when they're busy.

The prices are cheaper than most places and the portions are much bigger. The standard fare of chinese food is on the menu but it seems less 'MSG'ed than most places and fresher. There is a good selection of main dishes but they don't have desserts or coffees which is a bit of a problem if you have a sweet tooth.

However, this is one of the very few things I could say against the noodlebar.

The popularity of noodlebar is purely due to its reasonably cheap prices, fast service, and good location. The quality of the food is actually pretty standard. The food can be greasy, low in meat, and generally not fantastic. Though you can't help ending up there and getting a take away because it's good value and a quick fix for a rushed dinner.

This restaurant is definitely one of the best in Oxford, friendly and very quick service, and delicious food.

The Noodlebar is loud and frenetic, but the buzz does not hide the generic blandness of the cuisine. Not all is bad though: the prices are reasonable (as one would expect in what is, in effect, McAsian), the service is friendly (though perhaps more in the nature of a shoe store than a restaurant) and the portions are pleasingly large which makes it all that much more of a shame that the food just isn't there. But if you are craving the taste of Hong Kong or Penang or any Chinatown in the world... forget about it at the Noodlebar: don't be fooled by the hype and the crowd, you can do better elsewhere at near the same price.

Situated in the lively as well as convenient location of Gloucester Green, The Noodle Bar offers Oxford's diners a more economical as well as delicious option for Chinese cuisine. Upon arriving I was quickly seated at table (picnic style) with my party. The service was prompt and friendly and the staff wore modern black uniforms with bright animé cartoons printed on the back.

The noodle options vary between Ho Fun (thick, flat rice noodles), Mai Fun (vermicelli noodles), Udon (for soups), and Yo Min (Egg Noodles). We ordered drinks which were quite reasonably priced at Oxford standards (sodas were £1 and the Jasmine Tea is refillable). We ordered a side dish of seared vegetable dumplings for an appetiser- but it came out with our meals. The dumplings were composed of a unique pasta filled with fragrant vegetables. The Chicken in Chili and Garlic (£3.90), which comes with an option of boiled or egg fried rice, was quite spicy and came with a generous portion of peppers and onions. The Kung Po chicken (£3.90) is served fried tossed in a tangy sauce, but is one of the heavier dishes. The Chicken in Black Bean Sauce (£3.90) was very light as well as flavourful, and came with vegetables as well. The Roast Duck Udon noodles were steaming and aromatic.

The food came out individually, which was fine as each dish was hot and we didn't have to wait more than one minute for everyone else to be served. The portions were generous for the prices as well.
One drawback was the close seating arrangements, so it isn't the place for a romantic date, but the sparkling clean and modern atmoshere more than made up for this. The Noodle Bar is a great place for a group of friends or just for a quick and inexpensive feed in the centre of town.
