Posh Fish, Walton Street

I found this place on the Daily Info and as I am staying in the Jericho area I thought I would give it a go. All the reviewers are right - the portions are huge! I have eaten in the shop and have struggled to finish my meal of fish and chips. There is almost enough for two people. Even the portion of curry sauce is enormous. I really don't know how they do it for the price. The portions at the take-away part look huge as well - I have never seen chips being put in large paper bags before! If you are looking for a tasty filling meal that won't make you wince when you get the bill, go to Posh Fish.

A thoroughly enjoyable chip! Service is fast and friendly, always with a smile. The sausages are not bad either; not too big, not too small and certainly touches the sides. All in all, a satisfying experience!

I've not tasted a large selection of the menu, usually I just stop in for side orders but while waiting I always see the staff cleaning/polishing everything looks clean and bright, prices are reasonable considering the huge portions dished out and the staff are polite offering a friendly smile, a well-run take away.

Tasty chips and the usual fried things, and HUGE baked potatoes (remember to pick up your fork from the counter and not be reduced, as we were, to eating baked beans with broken off pieces of the polystyrene packet twenty minutes later). The service is quite rapid, but you have to wait 10 minutes for haddock.

Ive eaten here once before and thought it was more expensive than a usual chippy, perhaps because of the area? I don't eat fish and chips often but I'm sure it must be a quid less anywhere else. I dont agree with Greedy Rob's "stuff your face for nothing" comment. I do agree that they do give you huge portions but what's the point if you can't eat it all? Chips cost them very little anyway. One more annoying thing is my fish and chips were in a posh, poncy double lined bag thing which let my food steam and turn soggy on the 3 minute journey home. Overpriced poncy chippy.

Posh Fish is the business! Get yourself a big old sack of chips and a battered member for next-to-nothing, served in 20 seconds and tasting like chippy food should!

I was waiting for my Lamb burger when I spotted the cook carrying a bin back into the kitchen. He then proceeded to handle the burger bun without washing his hands. I pointed this out to the man who was serving me who decided to pretend he didn't know what I was talking about. When I pursued the matter he went and told the cook what I had said. The cook replied "Of course I washed my hands". I told him that I knew what I had seen and that I would now like my money back. This request was duly granted. Now, I don't know whether the cook meant that he had washed his hands after emptying the bin but he most certainly didn't after carrying it back into the cooking area and I, for one, don't fancy eating food in a place with such low standards of hygeine.
