Definitely my favourite pizza in Oxford, and - except for Fire & Stone's half-price Thursdays - possibly the cheapest (non-frozen) too. It's always fresh, the ingredients are clearly top quality, and it's ready to pick up in 10-15 minutes. The guys who usually answer the phone aren't the friendliest, but they always get your order right. Totally addictive, so much so that I've never tried any of their other food, but I did get a decent bottle of wine for cheaper than the convenience store, and the parmesan wedges are always good. Anon (Unverified), 01/04/11 Thought I'd add a review since the last one was from two years ago. Just picked up a pizza from here and uh oh, I see waaaayyyy more pizza in my future than there should be. :) It was delish! We pulled the car over and scarfed it before we got home (so glad these reviews are anonymous...right?). 13/10/10 Displaced New Yorkers, New Haveners, and Florentines - look no further for the best pizza in England! The ingredients are fresh (from the mozzarella to the cracked egg on top) and the choices are extensive - we love the Il Principe house pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, parma ham, artichokes, pepperoni, olives, anchovies and egg) and the vegelicious Vegetariana. When you pick up your pie there's plenty of Italian wine to choose from to bring home, too - and did I mention it's cheap enough to get a couple pizzas and a starter? Molto bene! Kate (Unverified), 13/07/08 Just popped in & picked up a couple of tiramisu & a takeaway menu. Tiramisu was delicious, light as a feather. Their extensive menu sounds lovely, will definitely be trying again. MCRedd (DI User), 12/03/08 Got to agree with that. They're the best value around. Listen to this tale of shame: I had a vegetariana from Il Principe one night, then a Tesco's finest (even adding my own extra toppings) the next. The Tesco version was so disgusting in comparison that I couldn't finish it. I chucked it and vowed only to get pizza from IP from now on (or Mario's - apparently they are related somehow). Zizzi's £5 takeaway pizzas were good too but these guys really know how to cook a mean Italian pizza. There's nothing like it. They also have a really good selection of fresh olives, sundried tomatoes, artichokes and all that, in bowls in the middle of the shop for customers to try. The fresh desserts too (cannoli, tiramisu, etc) are really good, and they've got loads of Italian grocery items, and not just pizzas, but other specialities to take away - eg. arancini di riso - rice balls surrounded by mozzarella in breadcrumbs, fried. Excellent.
