Mrs. Williams' Guest House is the perfect place to stay in Oxford. My wife and I have been visiting Mrs. Williams home for over 15 years. When we go there we feel like we are home. She is the perfect hostess and personifies the best of British hospitality. When I arrive at Mrs. William's home it's like I am home. In all of our travels in England, this is, without question, the best place to stay. Mrs. Williams is the perfect person to welcome you to Oxford and all of the charm of this beautiful, enchanting city. If there were a five star rating system, I would give Mrs. Wiilliams seven stars.

We stayed with Mrs. Williams for several nights in December 2006. A more perfect little place is not to be found, nor a more charming hostess. Mrs. Williams' house is an ancient building, with immense charm, from its impeccably painted and polished front door and intricately circuitous stair (with a very secure handrail, never fear) to the elegantly furnished rooms, several of which look out at New College directly across the street. Her sitting room is beautifully panelled in oak, with a handsome fireplace. Nothing is plumb or level, but all is spotless and in perfect repair. The location is ideal, quiet and central. The ultimate miracle is the lacquered panel in her facade that swings aside to admit your car to a private parking area in the rear garden, if you're foolish enough to have brought a car to Oxford.

What can I say for this charming Janet Williams. I went there with my mother few years ago and then I lived in Oxford for 3 years so we needed no more B&B to stay in. But every time either my mother or me and my husband are coming to Oxofrd, we are going there. Ms Williams is family for me now, she is so sweet, I love her and the place. Inside, it is really cute and there is no problem to share the bathroom! At night, it is very quiet so you can be 5mn walk from the city center without the nuisance of the noise!
It is the best place to stay in Oxford! I'm sending all my French friends to go there if they can!

Mrs Williams' Guest House in Holywell Street offers B&B at its best. The charming old house from the 1520's has only 4 guest rooms, so it is very quiet and shared bathrooms are not a problem. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Traditional cooked English breakfast will keep you going.

Holywell Street 14 is about 5 mins walk from the centre of Oxford. There's very little traffic on the street giving you a good night's sleep.

Mrs Williams is a charming person who seems to know pretty much everything worth knowing about Oxford.

I'd definitely stay again. £40 for a single room is good value.

We have stayed at Mrs Williams' Guest House in Holywell Street two or three times. It is excellent and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

A victim of her own success, we tried to book again recently, but sadly she had no vacancies. Nobody else appeared to have vacancies and we were forced to book into an unbelievably squalid establishment on Iffley Road. It was so bad I complained to the Environmental Health Officer!

So, from now on we will plan well ahead and book early!

Mrs Williams' rooms are clean and elegantly furnished. Her breakfast is truly scrumptious. Her company is excellent. She is obliging, informative and is extremely interesting to talk to. Her knowledge of Oxford and the surrounding area is impressive. Off-street car parking is an added advantage and by far makes up for the lack of en-suite facilities.

There is nowhere else in Oxford we would rather stay!

Mrs. Williams' B&B is wonderfully, typically British. The rooms are well decorated, clean, spacious; the beds are good and so is the cooked English breakfast. The location is perfect and central. Mrs. Williams herself is charming, kind and helpful, and seems to know everything worth knowing about Oxford. Higly recommended!

Mrs. Williams Guest House has been attended by us three times between 1998 and 2003. My wife and I have always been very satisfied with the room and the service provided. We would have preferred en suite facilities, but it has been OKed by us since the city center and all its facilities has been within walking distance. And the possibility to park our car has also been very much appreciated, and important to us.

We come from Bergen, Norway, and have visited Oxford when our son was a student at the Balliol College, where he got his bachelor's degree some years ago.

We would very much like to return to Oxford on holidays, and Mrs. Williams Guest House will, again, be our number one place to ask for accommodation. There is nothing wrong with the prices either.

Mrs. Williams is an excellent hostess. Her rooms are immaculate and elegant. Not all have ensuite baths but sharing is never a problem. She serves a perfect English breakfast and is wonderful to chat with. Holywell Street is really near everything you need in Oxford. Mrs. Williams' guest house is directly across the street from New College. I loved staying there a couple of years ago and would stay there again any time I had the chance.
