Well I believe this is the Hilton of Guest houses. You stay in a brand new very nicely decorated, very clean room, with TV, DVD hair drier, a radio, kettle, plenty of alternatives to drink from coffee to hot choclate, even fair trade tea. Also all the rooms are ensuite with their own shower and toilet. So you don't compete with other residents for toilet or shower. In the shower they provide everything from shampoo to body lotion. All rooms are equiped with ethernet csbles that you can connect to your computer and have access to fast internet. Wi-Fi is also available. You have plenty of choices for your breakfast from British to Continental or vegeterian and the breakfast is really varied and rich with an on time, very decent service. So this place is a real asset and I felt like I am in my home. Other than that all the guest house keepers ask you very frequently when you will be paying and how cash or card or what ever. This is not because they only think money but mostly it must be because they want to secure and make sure that they are not cheated. I strongly advise this place which is close to central Oxford and Cowley Road's food and restaurant varieties. asli (Unverified), 29/04/07 In the beginning we did do low rate like £24 pounds per night (which is the half price for a single room) during the initialize period. The £33 offer is an off-season rate which was not available at this time. I'm also so sorry to hear the lady say that. Because we tried to satisfy her request such like large en-suite double room, internet, and the digital tv (which is the unique bedroom in whole house have the digital TV). We only charge £37 per night for her. We'll try our best to improve our service. Athena Guest House (DI User), 14/03/07 Firstly, they have a £33.00 rate online which they claim they don't offer and they seem to be more interested in how much you are paying or paid than making you comfortable. Definitely not the 'home away from home' they claim it to be. I regretted staying there! I've found cheaper places that are way better.
