The staff are friendly polite and honest with a good customer service. We were warned there would be a delay. Also a member of staff apologised that 2 pizzas had been dropped, so while we waited an extra 2 minutes 2 of us were given leaf salads on the house. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, I had the Veneziana (Red onions, capers, olives, sultanas, pine kernels and 25p from the sale of this topping goes to the Veneziana Fund) as a Romana Pizza (bigger, thinner, crispier and £1.55 extra if your ordering from the classic range).

One word of advice though, if you decide to eat there during your lunch hour, I recommend that you try to order in advance, so the food can be waiting for you, instead of you waiting a while for it.

Drink and starters arrived in good time, My Tricolore base was slightly burnt but edible. Main course arrived promptly. The cast iron dish was very hot and the pasta was a little burnt on the top so I was expecting it to be overdone. I couldn't have been more wrong, it was as cold as if it had just been taken from the fridge. Waitress apologised and took it away. I decided to play safe and when the manageress came over ordered pizza and asked for a jug of water. Pizza was poor, I ate half. When the bill came the manageress explained that she had not charged us for the wine or pesto. A fine gesture, but little compensation for a ruined evening. We won’t be returning.

I am writing to praise the excellent quality of service I regulary receive at Pizza Express (6 The Oxford Castle Oxford OX1 1AY). All the staff make me and my assistance guide dog very welcome, and the pizzas are superbly prepared, presented, delivered, with plentiful amounts and there is no push to have your table. The experience is always a thoughly good one.

I celebrated my birthday at the Oxford Castle Pizza Express this year, again a wonderful memorable occasion which I have told so many friends about. Indeed I spread the word about such a gem of a restaurant with a fantastic welcome everytime. I do need to point out I have tried many other Pizza Expresses across the South East and London and eat out most days so I am experienced in good practise and the staff at this one have good disability equality skills. Wheelchair access is good too. What more can I say?

Ate here just over a week ago on a Friday night, as it's a great place to catch up with a friend that I hadn't seen for a while, and no reservation was required.

I'd recommend sitting upstairs, as it can be a little draughty downstairs with people coming in and out the door, and it's a bit pokey down there!

My friend and I had a bowl of olives for a starter, and a pizza each for main course. I can never fault the food in Pizza Express, and even their house red wine is reasonably nice. Service was also good - efficient, and friendly, and no one trying to hurry you out the door so they can get someone else onto the table! Couldn't fault the whole evening.

It's just a shame that I spent my most of the next morning being violently ill, as had my friend when she phoned to see if I was ok! Dodgy olives perhaps?

Excellent service and good pizza and pasta at a very good price. I was very surprised at how good it was, a million miles from Pizza Hut.

Standard pizza in a more glitzy setting. The service can be poor and slow.
