Have to agree with the previous posts about the ale - it is very good. One thing I find incredibly frustrating though is that the L & F is one of the only pubs in Oxford that still insists on taking cash only. I do not want have pay £1.50 for the privilege of using the pub cash machine and I am sure most of their cliente don't either. Since far busier Oxford pubs take cards, I can only assume this is not to speed things up at the bar!

I have not eaten here recently - but friends have had wildly differing experiences from the excellent to the appalling. Approach the menu with caution.

Contender for the best Real Ale pub in Oxford (along with the Turf Tavern, and Far From The Madding Crowd). Regulars Betty Stoggs, Lamb & Flag Gold, Old Peculier and Palmers IPA are all fantastic, and there are also three rotating guests.

Good solid pub, beer usually good to excellent, but gets very busy indeed from early evening in term time.
