The best in oxford, the occasional dip in quality is to be expected but still better than most. Such a diverse menu, easy to tell the newbies from the stalwarts from their choices. My advice to newcomers ask the staff, they are knowledgeable and passionate about what they make. Also have a sit down meal there, completely different experience from the takeaway vibes.

Oxford will always change and the landscape might be different but i hope this place still remains.

I love Bodrum Kebab, if I had my way I would eat it every day - however, my wife won't let me.

It's the best Kebab I've ever tasted. I stay away from Donar now as I'm too old, I eat Shish only.

Mixed kebab with chips, came with a well dressed salad. The lamb and shish kebab were perfectly cooked and the doner meat was by far the best tasting and least fatty I've ever come across.

I use this place all the time, and have done for more than fifteen years. It's definitely the best Oxford kebab place. The food is good quality, and the prices are very competitive. Really excellent coffee. The staff are very friendly, even when one turns up at three in the morning and requests a sit-down meal. Really good coffee too. Frankly, and I have been to at least half of Oxford's eateries over the years if not more, this is one of my favourites. Regulars such as myself sometimes receive a complimentary coffee or some baklava while waiting for a takeaway. Heaven for the carnivore on a budget!

I was in Oxford 2 weeks ago. I was going around and then I saw this Kebab House. I am Turkish and so I wanted to have a look inside. The first thing I saw was the cook behind the grill. He was Turkish and I started talking to him. He offered me a tea and I couldn't refuse! The restaurant was very clean and there was a great atmosphere. Unfortunately I had to go back to school. In the following days I took my friends there. When we were inside a VERY nice waitress ;) brought us to a table and gave us the menu. We ordered 2 "yoghurtlu" and one steak. 5-10 minutes later - which is ok! - our meals came. The food was really delicious and I recommend it to everybody. We had to go back again to school and were late :D Our teacher saw us and said we should have been back at our host family earlier. But it was worth it :) !

It may be a long trek up the Cowley Road if you live on the other side of town, but if you are a serious kebab connoisseur, we think you will find it worth while. The Thursday night chicken kebab is renowned (and very tasty), but the choice during rest of the week is far from limited. As with most of the kebab shops, there is a lot on offer.

As well as the standard kebabs and chicken, there are various shish options, including the evocatively named ‘Shazlik’. Oh, and the chips are wonderful!

Go into Bodhrum’s on any night and it will be packed. It is a well known option for locals, though there is a certain feeling of anonymity (even for us…) leading to a sterile, perhaps unfriendly atmosphere.

The chilli sauce is well flavoured and, mercifully, not too hot. Aioli from Bodhrum’s will keep your friends away for a fortnight, but is fairly watery, so there shouldn’t be any problem with cholesterol.

The competition from the kebab shop next door can only help to improve the general quality of the food on offer.
