It seems to be a common feature of the less popular kebab vans that they are all situated near another eatery. This is true of Tasty, which is a shame because there is nothing fundamentally wrong with it. Its problem is the Pizza-2-Go (two for the price of one) which plies for trade next door - an obvious lure to anyone tipsy and on the way home after kick-out. Having said that, this van does seem to have a small nucleus of regulars. The kebabs are well loaded, though bulked out with salad, with a fair portion of meat in a medium kebab, so weight for weight it is a very cheap van. The meat is of medium thickness and is of reasonable quality; nothing special. The chilli sauce is warm rather than hot but, again, nothing special. The aioli is probably the worst sauce; tasting a bit artificial (and not very garlicky). Remarkably, there are no chicken kebabs on offer. The only hint of anything fowl is the chicken curry baked potato, which we neglected to try. All in all, a middle of town, middle of the road kebab van. We quite like it, though. The Oxford Kebab Experience Rating: Doner - 6 chicken - n/a, sauces - 3, salad - 5, service - 7.
