Having noticed that this van has reappeared down St. Ebbe's, and equally that it's not had a review for over four years, I decided to give it a try tonight (purely in the name of research, you understand). A chat with the incredibly friendly proprietor informs me that the business has changed hands since its Tasty Kebabs days, and is now called 'Momo's', though no signage yet bears this name. Onto the food then - I had a medium chicken kebab, priced at £3.50, which is more than reasonable both in terms of what you get, and also when compared to other vans. The kebab consisted of marinated chicken pieces, served in a good-sized pitta bread with salad and sauce (tzatziki and chilli, on the owner's recommendation). It was very good indeed. The chicken was good quality, the salad fresh, and the sauces complemented each other very well indeed, with the chilli in particular being just hot enough to give a pleasant zing. While Momo's is not the snazziest-looking eatery you'll ever come across, its food seems good value, plentiful and tasty. Indeed, it seems a shame that it doesn't do more trade than it does, because it really deserves to do a lot better. Prices (from memory, so maybe not exactly right): Lamb Doner S/M/L £3/£3.50/£4 Chicken kebab S/M/L £3.50/£4/£4.50 Mixed kebab £4.50 Veggie Kebab £2.50 Also available: Beef burgers (£2), Chicken Burgers (£2.50), Veggie burgers (£2), Chips (£1 - £2 depending on size), jacket potatoes, canned drinks (60p), etc. Overall - food: good, service: fantastic, value for money: good.
