I go to Bar Risa and the music that they play upstairs is great. All the people that were in there looked as though they were having fun. I will be going there again and recommend it to my friends too. Keep up the good work!
babs, 13/09/07 One of the multitude of run-of-the-mill city centre bars with loud music and non-descript atmosphere. Bar Risa has only one real trump card in that it is the warm-up bar for the comedy club Jongleur's upstairs. It was shut recently for what I thought was a refit however it still appears to be exactly the same as it ever was. On the Saturday night I visited recently, it cost a fiver to get in and was a bit of a let-down really. The only unusual bevvy of note on tap was Kronenberg Blanc, but sadly that was off. The downstairs was rammed and the raised part of the floor had become a dance floor playing chart dance and R n'B whilst upstairs the tables and chairs are pushed aside to make room for a giant cheese-fest of Chesney Hawks and Bon Jovi standards, complemented by copious amounts of drunken girls in pink cowboy hats. I've had better nights. Joe B, 30/04/07
