This is a fine example of a proper pub complete with resident dog, good atmosphere, boisterous but friendly, family run with the Landlord often to be found holding court with the locals over after work pints during the early evening - how it should be. And the food's fine too - especially the burgers!
bp, 15/09/08 I went in on a Saturday afternoon expecting good things as I have seem numerous good write-ups, but was somewhat disappointed. The pub car park was packed with white work vans, and inside was full of young blokes swilling beer and playing pool. Maybe I expected the wrong thing but I thought it was a little shabby and didn't really stand out from the norm. The pub quiz is highly rated though (there's even a review of it in the toilets) and the larger than life landlord/barman was really chirpy. Joe B, 14/03/07 Just a quick few words for all to be aware that the Folly Bridge Inn not only has all you want from a friendly/family public house but exceptional home cooked meals with a great simple but varied menu. I'm a huge fan of the Sunday roast: lamb, beef, chicken etc. (which even my husband struggles to get through), and during the week they have a daily chef's special which is always worth looking out for. The new burger range (with chips & side salad etc.) is great value and again looks a challenge, having seen them being taken to tables in all their glory. I'm hungry now just writing this and my main point is: get down there and treat yourself and there will even be enough change for that little tipple we all enjoy. Keep up the great work to all at the Folly and thank you.... Cynthia and Pete, 20/02/07
