This pub is fantastic. Friendly staff and a real mix of customers. It's a homely pub serving home cooked English food, including a fab roast on Sundays. Jukebox has a good selection of tunes, and there's a pool table and traditional pub garden. It's family-friendly and has Karaoke nights on Saturdays and also bingo daytimes in the week. There is always a good atmosphere. This is my favourite pub in Oxford - it's like a second home!
Joanna, 24/06/08 Didn't know what to expect of this pub as rest of Abingdon Rd places are not great. Very surprised to find it very welcoming with friendly staff serving young and old locals, making a really nice atmosphere. Decent selection of beers, pool table at rear and large screen for sports. Good juke box and weekend live music/karaoke. Pub quiz was also advertised. Joe B, 14/03/07 Quiz review: Tuesdays, 8pm, £1 entry. I love this quiz. Laid back, local and unpretentious, it strikes just the right balance in terms of difficulty: some questions fairly low-brow (ok, I wasn’t proud to know who won The Apprentice) some satisfyingly tricky, and a music round you can get your teeth into. Too much sport, but that’s just me. What’s more, unlike the more central venues there’s never any trouble getting a seat. So please don’t come to it. Susie Cogan, 08/06/06
