Sprint

Stoically open early Sunday mornings this breezy eatery deserves to be buzzing come May morning. Serving bacon and egg rolls and buttery crispy croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast, the freshly baked aroma is hard to resist. Watch out for the daily offers, an example is £1 for pizza slice/baguette between 5-7pm. Meal deals are usually chalked up on the pavement board to tempt passers by on their way home. Sprint sells the classic roasted vegetables and feta cheese baguette but specialises in putting together unusual combinations of ingredients to present great sandwich fillings. Crispy bacon and French brie baguette, Cajun chicken and cheddar or plain chicken and mozzarella ciabatta are some of todays favourites. Prosciuto crudo or pastrami and swiss cheese are great for omnivores whilst vegetarians can tuck into a roasted butternut squash and brie with sweet chilli sauce. Tangy cans of mediterranean fruit sodas such as San Pellegrino aranciata and limonata plus Panna bottled water are stored in the chill cabinet. There always seems to be a great tune playing on the stereo of this neat sandwich shop. So grab yourself a tall stool at ‘Sprint’ and watch the world jog on!
