My boyfriend and I went this evening to celebrate my recent graduation; bubbly in hand we were greeted by a lovely and very friendly waitress, no corkage fees and super food! We shared 5 of the small dishes (houmous with chicken, haloumi flat bread, lamb meatballs, hot cubed potatoes and beans) which were all delicious, and came to £20. We are full and pleased! It was a lovely relaxed environment, a great place to go on a student (or ex-student budget). And the turkish delight chocs that come with the bill are a real treat! We will go again, and again!
Loulie (Unverified), 23/06/11 I really enjoyed the food here, and the middle Eastern decor is really well done. The prices are reasonable, and the portions good. Most of all though, the food is fresh-tasting and really flavourful. Love humous, flatbreads, kofti, etc? Then you'll love Cafe Nour. 09/03/11 Had a lovely time at Cafe Nour, the food was lovely and the service was very good. So much to choose from and the portions are an excellent size. They also have a smoking area in the back which is covered from the rain and is really pretty. Will be going back again - loved it!!!!! Ox star (Unverified), 01/03/11 We experienced exceptionally poor service for a large party. The meals served by Cafe Nour were of poor quality, at best, and had little resemblance to those suggested by the menu. Having looked at the pricing in advance, I was hopeful the meal would be of good value. However, the quality of the food did not even approach the standard anticipated. Staff were unhelpful. I say nothing more than recommend you look elsewhere for reasonable food and service. 20/02/11 Tried last night for the first time and thought the food was really average. Had a selection of mezze and thought it was rather overpriced and unexciting. Also ordered the spinach and cheese pastries and we were bought a spinach crepe instead, but I would have preferred to know that the thing we ordered isn't available so that I can choose something else. Also I think that £1.75 for a sprig of mint in some hot water is extortionate! G&T (Unverified), 27/07/10 Happened upon Café Nour when looking for somewhere to eat on Thursday night- so glad we did. Although the waiter/manager said there would be a delay due to lots of customers arriving at the same time, its a lovely environment to sit and wait in. Beautiful Egyptian decor and ultimately not that much of a wait (we had hummus to keep us going). The food was great value and portion sizes just right. Would highly reccommend for a mid-week meal out JN (Unverified), 28/06/10 Café Nour - love love love your food! It's always fresh, delicious, yummy and portion size is enough for my big belly :). Everybody join my club of Cafe Nour's fan! Soon they will open space outside at the back :) baba (Unverified), 09/06/10 My wife and I dropped in out of curiosity one day as we were passing, and were bowled over by the excellent value, the delicious food that comes in generous portions, and the friendliness of the staff. Needless to say, we have been back. Note: it is Middle Eastern, so does not serve beer or wine. Peter (Unverified), 06/03/10 I've been twice now, and can't recommend it highly enough. Truly excellent Lebanese food with friendly service and very good prices. The grilled meats are among the best I've ever tasted. In fact, all the dishes I've tried so far have been uniformly excellent. Do try it. TomD (DI User), 22/02/10 Two of went here last Friday night (19-2-10) and had a great experience. We brought our own wine and weren't even charged corkage. The food was all freshly cooked, beautifully spiced and stunning value for money. If you want a nice, tasty and unpretentious meal then you'll love Cafe Noor. Dom (DI User), 21/02/10 Fantastic food: I loved the lamb chops with a side order of moussaka, wonderful service all with great prices. It will certainly be a weekly or twice weekly visit for me. Steve Central Oxford (Unverified), 12/02/10 Walking through Cowley Road looking for something to eat with 3 other friends, we found Cafe Nour. Bright noticeable colour from outside, inside a homey nice atmosphere. We ordered a few small things between us, the menu was great to choose from. Food was great and we saw the chef was cooking, they have open kitchen you can see. Service was good, price so great from 2.90. We will be back for more choices. keqo (Unverified), 03/02/10 Please fill in the boxes and then click "Send Review" to submit your review for Le Kesh. | |
