A really nice pub. The landlord was very friendly, and the food was amazing (and in very big portions). We went on a Sunday lunchtime and had lamb shank and turkey wrapped in bacon, with a vast variety of vegetables. We were impressed all round. Ahateumezalea (Unverified), 30/03/12 How friendly the staff were and how accommodating! I had a great night with wonderful bar food, fantastic pizzas and pies, beer that was value for money and a great pint. On the whole there was a feel good factor about the pub and I'll definitely be going back very soon. sequins (Unverified), 13/08/10 What an excellent place! Lovely pizzas, lovely people, very clean and a great atmosphere. Looking forward to going back next week. ferriers (Unverified), 28/03/10 The White Hart is an enjoyable, friendly place - I felt very welcomed when I came in, they served good clean fresh beer, it was very clean and tidy - they really seem to know how to please their customers. I will be going back very soon! deirdre (Unverified), 15/03/10 The White Hart is now under new management, with live entertainment, quizzes, family nights, and a lunch time menu being planned and much more, please come in and enjoy the fun..... opening night planned for the 30th January 2010. All welcome!! See you there!! sequins (Unverified), 08/01/10 This pub is now under new management, but the landlady has since disappeared. It is much cleaner inside, and the beer was cold and the glasses clear, rather than opaque! However pets are no longer welcome, as word is they will be introducing food, (hopefully not Ratatouille!) Local yokel (Unverified), 29/08/09 Nice place, I seem to remember, but it would be even better if they actually bothered to pick up the phone when you try to call them... knitty (Unverified), 12/08/09 A brilliant duo play in this pub called The Butterfly Collectors. You must see them! Oasis to the Small Faces and a wee bit of 60s soul as well... Young guys, but fantastic!! Tel Boy (Unverified), 10/07/08 Recently went to this pub as haven't been in for quite a while now. It is most welcoming and friendly but I have noticed that the pubs cleanliness has gone right down hill. I remember it used be so fresh and clean but now the corridor to the toilets smelled unpleasant. The lovely wooden floor by the pool table was rather dusty and dirty. The carpet seemed liked it needed darn good hoover. Don't mean to disrespect the pub as it is a lovely friendly atmosphere and very welcoming but they sure do need to clean the place up a little. anon (Unverified), 29/03/08 Some great live music held here. Enjoyable beer and sometimes a lively atmosphere. oxmusic fan (Unverified), 19/02/08 Nice to find a pub that welcomes a nosy West Highland terrier! Shona (Unverified), 20/11/07 On entering the White Hart you will notice that there are no numbers on the tables. Great! – this means it is a pub and not a restaurant. The building has been refurbished recently and is pleasantly decorated and obviously well cared for. There are a number of televisions around for sports coverage, but they are not on continuously nor is the volume very loud normally. Also, there are areas available away from the screens. Outside there is a smallish garden and also an area for smokers. Music acts feature regularly on Friday or Saturday nights. There is a good range of drinks behind the bar. Especially pleasing is the fact that there are three well-kept real ales on offer and sometimes a fourth guest one. The atmosphere is relaxed and the couple who run it (Frank and Jan) are very welcoming and friendly. All in all it is a good place for a beer (or more) and the people of Wolvercote and North Oxford are very lucky to have a proper pub in their area. Local Boozer (Unverified), 12/07/07 I was due to visit Oxford last week and I asked some friends of mine for a good pub to visit whilst in the area. They told me about the White Hart in Wolvercote. Well I popped in and was surprised to find it surpassed all my expectations. This is a well managed, friendly establishment with a good variety of beers, spirits etc. The couple who run this place made me very welcome and the people here are so friendly. I felt like I was returning to my favourite local pub. 10 out of 10. Keep up the good work! ED MUNDS (Unverified), 05/07/07 Recently moved to Summertown, stayed @ the Holiday Inn, asked for a recomended pub & was directed to White Hart, Wolvercote. I was very welcome & was made to feel like I was part of the village - wish I was because it's a great pub, fantastic atmosphere & best of all they serve a variety of very well kept beers, specially the real ales! Will definitely be back. doby (Unverified), 19/06/07 Nipped in for a quick pint whilst the rugby was on last weekend. Pub really packed. First time i'd visited and from what little I saw of it, ti seemed like a nice local. Staff semmed ok to me but then again I only bothered them for 2 pints and some pork scratchings!
