In this day and age of impersonal service and internet alienation, it is a great experience to have very good food served by great people who obviously care about standards of cleanliness and food quality but also make you feel welcome. Still going there, still good, genuine food and folks.

Just got a kebab there. The only difference I've found with a kebab van is that they make the bread at the moment. For the rest, same quality and price of a kebab van.

I've never had my food delivered, as I live just down the road and always pick it up, so cannot comment on the delivery service, but can certainly recommend the food. The kebabs are freshly made with real meat (not the congealed mass on a rotating stick that you usually get) and with lots of veg. As such, they take quite a while to make, so it's best to phone ahead with your order. The pizzas are very nice too - I think they make their own dough, as it always tastes very nice. My only tiny gripe is that the meat kebabs are a bit pricey (although the veggie kebab is much cheaper), though like I said, you get real meat, so you do get what you pay for.

So how could I possibly start this review...I have just finished my delivery order from Pizza and Kebab Shop and on the plate remains 2 half eaten large pizzas, 4 chiken strips and...well the nuggets they were eaten but not enjoyed...but overall can it be considered a very successful meal if more than half of the food that was ordered has been left uneaten?

To start with, the delivery took aproximately 1 hour to arrive, though I must mention that we were told about it while ordering (well, once we had made the order) so we were expecting such delay. After a wrong call from the delivery guy and enough patience, the orders arrived. To my surprise the 2 pizzas, the chicken nuggets and the chicken strips were all hot, so that led me to believe that after all it was going to be worth the wait...but how little did I know that I was completely wrong. First of all, the order was taken wrong as the "chicken feast" pizza turned out to be a "sausage feast" instead...which normally wouldn't really be such a bad problem except for the fact that my girlfriend is muslim so she is not a big fan of pork. Even so, we removed them all and decided to start eating as the rest looked fine...but what about the taste?

Well both pizzas tasted like they had been re-heated and the base felt like cardboard, which was not much of a problem on the first slice, but after it, on the second, the "tastelessness" really sank in and became even inedible for the biggest pisshead. The (also reheated) chicken strips didn't contribute in the slightest to the taste of the pizza but instead enhanced the awfulness of the whole...and last but not least (well never the least as it was the only thing worth taking a bite from) the chicken nuggets, which had a plain tasting buttered layer but hided an ok tasting chiken inside.

So, what can I say, overall, 2 large pizzas, 6 chicken strips and 10 chicken nuggets = 20 pounds...and thank god for that, because even though I am not a great take-away critique and you can't never expect superb quality food from a chippy this was without a doubt the worst food I have tried in a while...but ok that is what happens when you are desperate for food, can't be bothered with getting out of your house and want to blindfoldedly sacrifice price for quality, at least it is a lesson learnt.
