Lovely cafe with good English breakfast. Nice spot that has a family feel. I enjoy the coffee there too. Only wish they would take bank cards! :( zoineos (DI User), 02/04/12 Combibos is a fine example of how a local business can give the big chains a run for their money. On any given day Combibos is always lively, whereas cafés outside term-time can look sad, forlorn and empty. I am a loyal Combibos customer, they give student discounts, have free wifi, a community feel and above all really good customer service. My only criticism is that sometimes they play music so loud you cannot hear someone talking right next to you. Otherwise, one of the best coffee shops in Oxford. Hovis (Unverified), 30/07/10 Great cafe, nice coffee and good music. Friendly staff AND table service - something no other coffee shop in Oxford offers (ok so it's hardly a life-changing issue but it does tell you they care about their customers). Gets busy on Sat/Sun mornings and you see the same faces week after week but it's good, they have a loyal customer base and new people keep showing up. I wish they'd change the (excellent) song lyrics on the wall now and then - I love Green Day and Sinatra as much as the next man but they get a bit tiring. Maybe they should have a competition where you get your favourite song lyrics on the wall for a few months? EMB (Unverified), 19/05/09 The most beautiful coffee in Oxford. Yummy, too. In fact, everything about this place is enjoyable, from the tasty and extensive menu of tea and coffee drinks to the slightly bohemian decor in warm tans and browns. Food consists of rather typical assortment of cakes, or toastable sandwiches from a cooler in the front of the cafe unless you come before 11am, when they have a wonderful breakfast menu. It gets busy and a bit noisy, but the service is always good, and the free wifi (provided by Blackbench) is reliable and easy to access - no passwords to remember or secret expires-after-one-hour clauses. Highly recommended! monarchi (DI User), 19/02/09 Combibos Coffee is great, both because their coffee is far better than that available most anywhere else in Oxford and because the staff and other patrons are so friendly, among a myriad of other reasons. I have been in Oxford for about a year and a half now. I started going to Combibos for the coffee (and paninis), and talking to the people there was an added bonus. Now I go regularly to talk to the people and the food and drink is an added bonus. That bonus is considerable, and it seems that each time I go they have added something new, be it new breakfast options, or new soups, or something else. They also have free with purchase internet. Combibos is also one of the only places in Oxford that you can get proper pancakes, but only until 11am. It is a testament both to the loyalty that Combibos inspires in its customers and its draw to new ones that the Nero's that was opened near by to try to take the customers is regularly empty or near-empty, while Combibos is always full. MAK (Unverified), 06/02/08 Am a huge fan of Combibos. They pay close attention to their coffee, give just the right touch of table service, and have both comfy indoor seating and outdoor tables in the piazza del gloucester. They seem to do every little thing 5% better than it's done by the big coffee chains, and when you add that up its a world of difference. Well done combibos! c.d.h.
