On arrival at this van, I was extremely impressed by how clean it was - every surface was spick and span. They even had a litter bin attached to the wheel of the van, and a member of staff was cleaning off the counter as I arrived. I ordered a mixed kebab - for the set price of £4.80, you can choose any two of the different types of kebab they offer (doner, chicken, kofta, shish). I ordered chicken and shish, with chilli and garlic sauce. WTD (Unverified), 05/02/10 Located just outside Christ Church, Posh Nosh finds itself opposite the more popular haunt of McCoy’s, leaving the place with no queue at all. The van is run by a friendly duo (presumably father and son), who arrive early and stay as late as anybody, but their food is average at best. Owing to a misunderstanding with the order, we were left without any Doner at all, but the beefburger was limp, greyish and unmemorable. The Chilli sauce was slightly sickly and sweet. Even worse, arguably the most important fare – the chips, were truly terrible. Undercooked, soggy and tasteless, these were virtually inedible, and didn’t even any noticeable seasoning have mitigate the awfulness. You might have better luck as a vegetarian though – jacket potatoes are soft, wholesome and enormous, though a little ruined by the rubbery cheese on top. Most recommended is the healthy dose of humus and salad in a tasty pitta, though you may want to get rid of the bonus chips. Not really recommended then, though as this is surely the last van to stay open, you might be stuck with it if you’re ravenous after a night out.
