Ruddigore may not share the fame of other Gilbert and Sullivan works such as The Mikado or The Pirates of Penzance, but it has still found its way into pop culture, even being parodied in one of Big Finish's Doctor Who radio plays. With songs and humour that have been described by critics as some of the best examples of Gilbert and Sullivan's talents, Ruddigore tells the story of a family of 'bad baronets' cursed by witches to commit a crime every day, or else die gruesome deaths. The operetta lampoons marriage, manners and melodrama as the worlds of the living and the dead collide.

The operetta will play at the MBI Al-Jaber Auditorium at Corpus Christi College on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th January, with performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
