An exhibition of sculpture among the vines of Oxfordshire's oldest vineyard: 8th - 23rd September
Bothy Vineyard, Frilford Heath, Abingdon OX13 6QW, Sat 8 September - Sun 23 September 2018
The lush green spaces of the county's oldest vineyard provide a fantastic setting to discover an all-new lineup of sculpture. In addition to the playful effect of Mad March Hares bounding through the courtyard, or a pair of kissing stone giraffes nestled among the vines, you can expect a rich programme bursting with sensory delights: a pop-up lunch, a capella choirs, talks and guided walks... and of course, wine tastings!
For those feeling inspired by their artistic discoveries, there is also an exciting range of workshops on offer - try your hand at blacksmithing, printing or glass fusing, suitable for complete beginners!
In case the heady combination of art, nature, food and wine sounds a bit too indulgent to justify, rest assured that hedonism will be balanced by charity. The festival is supporting two wonderful and very fitting causes: Wild Oxfordshire, a local wildlife charity, and The Heartstone Fund, which encourages young people to discover art.
With over 200 sculptures by 50 artists, in a wide variety of themes, styles and materials, there is truly something for everyone here - whether you're an experienced buyer looking to add to your collection, or simply want to see some new pieces in a rustic outdoor environment for the sheer joy.
